Rafael Martinez

Rafael Martinez is a painter and sculptor. He began his studies at the art school Rafael Monasterios of Maracay and in Arturo Michelena in Valencia. In 1968 he continued his studies at the experimental university of Vincennes in Paris as an assistant to the artist Jesus Soto and Carlos Cruz Diez. Friends offered him the opportunity to participate in the first expositions of cynotism and constructivism.
In 1972 the artist went to Italy where he lived in Milan, Rome and Brescia. In 1984 he went back to Venezuela where he lives to this day. His beautifully constructed works are a feast for the eyes. As a viewer you experience something different from every angle of the work.
