The print comes from a calendar of the printing company Edition Domberger. Over the years, the printing company in Stuttgart has printed dozens of calendars consisting of original screen prints. This print comes from the 1972 calendar. In total, 3000 copies were printed, 130 of which are signed.

Richard Anuszkiewicz (pronounced ah-noo-shkev-ich) is considered one of the most important Op-Art artists. He was taught by renowned artist Josef Albers and received his Master of Fine Arts from Yale University School of Arts and Architecture.
When Anuszkiewicz was only thirty years old, he made his international breakthrough as an artist. His work soon hung in the MoMa and he was seen as the 'wunderkind' of the sixties. The paintings he made required tremendous precision, accuracy and a steady hand. With his work, Anuszkiewicz explored the optical changes that occur when different colors of high intensity are brought together with geometric shapes. His paintings often have geometric shapes that seem to vibrate and radiate light. His compositions often seem harsh due to their clean lines and shapes, but he says about his work "I'm interested in making something romantic out of a very, very mechanistic geometry." The colors and shapes make Anuszkiewicz's work seem timeless.
