Ed van der Kooy The Hague, 1954 After his studies at the Royal Academy in The Hague, Ed van der Kooy started traveling. While travelling, Van der Kooy became fascinated by Eastern cultures. Nepal in particular fascinated him. He explored the Himalayas with a sketchbook and pencil and drew the people he met in remote mountain villages during his travels. Ed van der Kooy has always continued to travel and his connection with Asia is also reflected in his recent work.
